x3800 Picasso

x3800picassodoc.jpgThe unified railcar X3800, nicknamed autorail Picasso, is a diesel railcar class with bogies, used by the SNCF from the 50's to the 80's, built by Renault. These railcars can be easily recognized because of their elevated side driving cab. 250 of them were produced.

They have been nicknamed Picasso because of they driving cab which isn't centered, it remains faces painted by Pablo Picasso which the eyes and the nose where completely shifted on.

Thanks to their reliability, their rusticity, and their very particular design with the shifted driving cab, some of them have been conserved and are used on touristic lines.
