z22500

z22500doc.jpgThe z22500 also named MI 2N Eole has been designed both by RATP and SNCF to desserve lines E and A of RER. The caracteristics of the train are different according to their constructor. The equivalant stuff for the RATP is the z2500 or MI 2N Altéo.

The SNCF owns 53 z22500 units only used on the regional line RER E since 1999 but this train was used from 1996.

A new train costs 10M €. It can carry about 2500 passengers with 1100 seats so it's a very good train for crowded lines also thanks to its three wide doors per side.

A z22500 unit is composed of five vehicles : ZRBx (car), ZBx (engine), ZRB (car), ZAB (engine), ZRBx (car). It's used in single unit or multiple unit according to the attendance.
