The z8800 is an double decker auto-engine of SNCF ordered for the expansion of the RER C. From 2010, z8800 are renovated with a better interior, a video-surveillance and a passengers information device. Unlike the renovating of other machines, the z8800 won't get an air conditioning. That induced, as usual in France, the anger of associations.
The z8800 can be used in four or five vehicles trains.
