Class Z4200 were propelled carriages of the Company of Midi (a former rail company operating in Southern France).
These vehicles were considered as half-locomotives of the Midi, indeed one half of them was a luggage compartment and only one of the two bogies was propelled. Moreover they have parts in common with Midi's locomotives BB 4100 and BB 4600. They were put in service in 1930 and operated until 1975.
Class Z4200 can be coupled together.
